Being BIG Church – what is it?

The Bible describes the people of God as family, and nothing brings more joy to God’s heart than seeing His family enjoying life together. With adult, youth and children’s streams, plus loads of free time to just hang- out, there’s something for everyone at Being BIG Church. Whether you want to visit for the day or stay overnight, come and be part of our family celebration!

Family fun for everyone

‘Being big church’ is so much more than meetings and seminars. There’s loads of time for fun, games, good food and great laughs. Saturday afternoon is free-time, so why not join in some of the great activities available, such as buggy-building, adventure courses, bush craft and camp-building. Try your hand at frisbee golf, or follow the tree-trail. There’s a whole 36 acres to explore!

Adult programme Guest Speaker – Rev. Ian Stackhouse

Ian is the Pastoral Leader of Guildford Baptist Church since 2004, after previously being Senior Pastor at Kings Church Amersham for 11 years. He is married to Susanna and they have four sons, all of whom support Burnley Football Club. In his spare time Ian likes reading novels, writing poetry, walking in the Surrey Hills, watching movies, playing football with his boys and listening to Russian Orthodox music! Ian has thus far authored four books and contributed to a number of others.

Staying overnight

There’s nothing like camping in the great outdoors. Admittedly for some that comes as a blessèd relief. However, for others camping ignites the adventurer in us. Whether you bring your own 2 man survival tent, or ‘Glamp’ in style with your all-singing, all-dancing 16 berth, come and be part of the adventure! There are also a limited number of caravan pitches available. If camping is not your style there’s a possibility of dorm-style accommodation for an extra charge. (Please speak to your church leader if this is of interest to you). NB: Site rules specify that any adult wishing to stay overnight on-site needs to have a current DBS Check.

Instructor-led activities

Ever tried your hand at archery, air-rifle shooting, caving, climbing, crate stacking or even a low-rope assault course. Well now’s your opportunity. Led by qualified instructors, these activities can stretch and expand your abilities. Each activity lasts 60 minutes and cost an additional £6 per person providing there is sufficient interest. To register your interest please click here and we’ll contact you nearer the time to confirm your booking.
